Chi Wara Antelope From the Bambara Tribe of Southwest Mali, this sculpture is made from one piece of wood. As we rubbed, we discovered intricately hammered pieces of metal appearing to be brass on the body and face. The antlers are ringed with another metal. The folklore of the Chi Wara is as interesting as the piece itself. Legend holds the Bambara people traveled frequently in search of food.
